Aislin's story - written by Aserene
Today was quite possibly the biggest day of Aislin's, daughter of King Jareth and Queen Sarah, Princess of the Labyrinth and Castle Beyond Goblin City, life. Top None. Well, forever's not long at all so maybe there could be another one that came close. Today was the day she was assigned her role in not just her own kingdom but also the magical realms that she touched. She would soon have the power to cross over into the mortal realm as well, and while she'd been there many times thanks to her Uncle Toby, she had never been allowed alone. She would soon be the Keeper of...well something. Considering, what her parents ruled over she was pretty sure she'd get a good one, of course she'd also already been born to a role, she just didn't know what it was yet.

Aislin pushed open the door to the throne room where the Goblins had been removed thanks to the special visitors. There was Sirena and Lelia arguing about rouge waves and ship wrecks, Fauna fawning over some of the fierys that her mother allowed to stay, and Alisha sighing dramatically near her father and mother as her father recounted the fateful meeting with her mother and Toby.

"Ah there's my lovely Princess of Nightmares," her father called to her.

"Well, thanks Dad, but seriously Nightmares?" He laughed and gestured to the guests that the ceremony was to begin. "No, I have the information here," he created one of his crystal balls and handed it to her. "If you turn it so, it will show you your dreams." Aislin accepted the crystal ball, taking a deep breath and saw...nothing. Well, no, not nothing, there was a strange glimmer and just when it was become clear the crystal popped! Aislin looked up at her parents and no sooner had she then she heard words never before spoken...

"I wish..."

Aislin felt herself pulled and convulsively turned into a brown owl flying off in a what seemed to be an already navigated direction. She broke the barrier, but no sooner had this happened than she seemed tugged in multiple directions. She nearly plummeted to the ground but finally found a tree in the wood to land in. Aislin could not account for the constant pounding of voices in her head and the need to be in multiple places. Is this what her parents felt?

"I wish I knew what was happening," the words escaped her lips before she realized it and moments later a white barn owl flew near her perch and encouraged her down. She circled the ground watching the owl turn into her mother before following. "You have become the Keeper of Wishes."

"But it's so loud! How do I make it stop?"

"That is entirely up to you, you are not the only being to grant wishes though." Her mother disappeared after that leaving Aislin alone standing in the forest with a pounding head.

"A book. A book should work," she muttered to herself. She used her own magic to create a ledger book and watched the wishes record themselves. She had quite the backlog, wishes for children, wishes for pets, for everything under the sun. "Catalog wishes." The book responded and cataloged, outweighing nearly all the wishes were those for pets.

Aislin had heard from her uncle that some parts of the world had stray animals that no one took care like they did where he was from. She took off to these regions and gathered up the stray pets putting them in crystal carriers and storing them in a traveling aether that would follow her as she flew. She immediately went to the largest concentration and began there, realizing quite quickly she could not simply brain wash the people into thinking they already had a pet, they would have to act. So she made it incredibly tempting. On the way home for work, crossing the street as they went to get the mail, barking happily in a shelter. Aislin soon caught up to all the wishes for the day, quickly realizing that some wishes appeared and then disappeared as other wish granters took care of them, perhaps, she thought, I might meet them one day.

As Aislin returned home she had a system which would direct to her only the truest most heartfelt wishes, the ledger would record the rest for her to act upon later. She entered her parents favorite room in the castle walking up and over the stairs as they twisted and turned.

'How do you like your position?' Her father asked.

"It's a piece of cake."

"Be careful what you wish for," her mother laughingly replied. Aislin simply smiled.
