Suzu's story - written by .:Lapis_Lazuli:.
Watching over fortunes wasn't exactly the easiest thing the world. At first, Suzu didn't understand what she had to do. How was one supposed to keep 'fortunes' in line? Sure, she could tell fortunes, but watching over them? After some time of confusion, she began to think she'd never fully understand. That is... until one particular day in this young Keeper's life...

Suzu had been traveling around- checking all of the Chinese restaurants (Hey, never know when someone might be giving away bad fortune cookies!), the local fortune telling booths. Everything looked good- nothing faulty.

That is... until she saw a shop she'd never seen before. It was a relatively small, brick building. The brick was painted pure black, a strange drape hanging over the front doors. Sure, could just be some new store, but this one caught her eye. It looked like another fortune telling shop. Maybe she should check it out...

Stepping inside, Suzu instantly felt.... a truly odd feeling coming from inside. Not knowing what to think of it right off the bat, the Keeper continued in. As she went deeper and deeper into this odd little place, Suzu soon came across a long, rectangular shaped table. There were cards spread around- different faces and symbols on them. What were these for? Not only that, but there was a crystal ball in the center of the table-- with an empty seat behind it. Where was the fortune teller?

Something didn't feel right about this. Eyes narrowing, curiosity seemed to get the better of her. Taking the crystal ball into her small hands, Suzu examined it. It looked like any other crystal ball she'd seen-- wait.

"... What is this...?" Her multicolored eyes seemed to catch the sight of a small engravement on the bottom. Tipping it forward just slightly- as not to let the ball fall out, Suzu looked closely-- only to be shocked by what she saw.

'Made in China'

What?! She thought, nearly dropping it in the process. This... This wasn't a true crystal ball! Does that mean that whomever owned this shop was giving false fortunes using this... fake ball??

What should she do? She couldn't just leave it there! But... Where was she supposed to get a new one? A real one??

After a moment of thinking, Suzu's eyes widened-- wait! She had one back at home! She'd always kept numerous different fortune-telling items around the house for whatever reason. Maybe she could replace this one with that one?

In an almost panicked state, Suzu grabbed the ball- zipping out of the store as fast as she could-- hopefully she could get back before the fortune teller returned!

Luckily, this particular 'route' was near her house-- so it didn't take too long to get there, get the crystal ball, and get back to the shop. She sighed in relief upon stepping inside. The fortune teller wasn't back yet. Out of breath, legs aching from the constant running, Suzu walked over to the table- setting the replacement down on the table.

Frankly, though it was an odd day- truly, truly odd- Suzu felt accomplished. She'd helped future people from coming in here and getting faulty fortunes!
