Infenatie's Story - Written by Bluestarwolf 12
The full moon hung in the sky, it's pure light disspelling the shadows that usually ruled the night. In the Woods, as Infenatie had recently discovered, save for the occasional Owl, there were not very many creatures of the night, especially in comparison to the world of the Humans where the nighttime brought out an entirely new kingdom of creatures that ruled the night and hid in the day. From what she had been told by her father, not many Keepers and Guardians got to spend time in the Human world, but since her subject as well as his had direct ties with Human religious beliefs, they had to make frequent trips. At her current age, she was not allowed to go alone to the Human world, but Xeerou, her father, had promised Infenatie that if she worked hard to study the Human belief in Judgement Day, the various related religions, and became a Guardian, she'd be able to travel there whenever she wanted to on her own. The idea greatly excited the little Keeper, so she had promised to do as her father said.

Which put her in her current position, on the top branch of an incredibly high tree, leaning against the trunk, and reading a religious book that the Humans called a 'Bible' by the light of the full moon, a habit adopted from her mother who never seemed to be home during full moons. The book seemed to detail the creation of the Human race, as well as the origins of many of the phenomena that they knew today. She couldn't help but frown at how morbid it was, how pathetic, hopeless, and indebted it painted humans to be should they not devote the entirety of their beings to their savior. It just seemed like such a hopeless case for the Humans. But that was the purpose of Judgement Day: sort out the true believers from the non believers... Right? But, then, the other book centered around a different God, and it detailed the same event. In fact, every book she had read on the religious beliefs of the humans had a completely different set of virtues and Gods, and every one of them said that people that didn't believe in their God/s would face some form of miserable existance after they died. It simply didn't make sense.

Upon asking her father not two days later, he explained to her that he had hoped she would notice that.

"You see, the humans always like to believe that they are right. Whether any one of those belief systems is correct remains to be seen, and it is that that will ultimately lead the Humans to their doom. Unlike in this world, the Human world is full of fighting, pain, and negativity. It is why our jobs are so important, and also so dark. We must know of the destruction in that world, must know of the pain. You already understand much of this from your reading, and you are not far from fully grasping it. What you must understand is how human nature will impact their fate. From there, you will be able to become a Guardian." Infenatie nodded, now beginning to understand why her father usually didn't smile, why he always seemed so wise and so tired. But it didn't matter. She would be a Guardian, no matter what sort of depressing material she would need to learn and understand to get there.
