Astari was entrusted with her job as keeper of stardust at a young age when she was presented with her stardust amulet by her grandmother. Little did she know how difficult this task would be! Stardust is scattered so widely and in so many forms that she was forever darting from one disaster to another, however one such incident stood out in from all the others it was the great mystery of the disappearing stardust.

It all started one mid-winter morning when Astari was going about her daily morning rituals when she noticed that her stardust pendant was not glowing as it normally did. She checked the pendant carefully and discovered that the stardust it contained had vanished. No one could have removed the stardust as the pendant was always around her neck. She checked her warning system to discover that it was not just her stardust that had disappeared but all the stardust in the land had vanished.

The investigation started immediately and she began the job of tracking the last known whereabouts of all the stardust while staying in contact with the network of stardust keepers but by the end of the day she was no closer to discovering the whereabouts of all the stardust. At the rate this was going she would soon be out of a job as what use is a keeper of stardust when there is no stardust! She spent all night hypothesising with the other keepers as to the whereabouts of the stardust and who may be responsible for its disappearance and finally it struck them, there was one ex-keeper who was banished after being found to be in the possession of certain sacred artefacts composed of pure stardust. They all agreed that Killane who was now the coveter of stardust could be the only person behind this, he had vowed upon his banishment that he would take his revenge on them when they least suspected it.

The keepers hatched their plan led by Astari and armed with the stardust they generated from their wings they set out to find Killane's lair. It was not hard to find as they had been aware of his activities for some time but were not aware of how advanced his plan had become, they would not make this mistake again. Astari led the assault through the front door and came face to face with Killane who was glowing in a full suit of armour made up of stardust and with a mighty stardust sword. It was then that Astari and her two comrades put their keeper powers into play and with ease dismantled Killane's armour and weaponry leaving him defenceless. The other keepers had scoured the rest of the lair and discovered all the missing stardust and spirited it back to where it belonged undoing Killane's dark spell that had bound it to this place.

The keepers concentrated their power and returned the last of the stardust back to where it belonged in the process restoring the stardust to Astari's pendant and retrieving the artefacts which Killane had once again spirited away. With that their work was done and Astari returned home safe in the knowledge that she once again had her stardust pendant and that at least for now all the stardust was safe from Killane.
